Community groups have come together to raise £600 for a hall’s redecoration.

The fun day saw groups including Forest Gate community garden, Forest Voices choir and Tendercubs preschool unite at Durning Hall, run by charity Aston-Mansfield.

Among the guests were West Ham MP Lyn Brown and Cllr Seyi Akiwowo.

The money raised will be used for redecorating the hall’s main room.

A spokesman for Aston-Mansfield said: “The event celebrated the strength that we have in our community and was open to all and everybody to attend.

“The spring event was a big success and this collection of community groups are looking to put on more events in the future.”
