West Ham United Community Sports Trust will hold their first football trials for places in their Learning Academy this week.
The academy offers 16-18-year-olds the chance to participate in a range of sports while progressing academically.
Working with Newham College students can combine a range of vocational and academic courses with sport leadership and coaching qualifications. There will also be community work experience. Trials will take place on Thursday, between 4pm-6pm, and on June 22, between 12pm-3pm, at the West Ham United Community Sports Trust, in Albatross Close, off Woolwich Manor Way, Beckton. Bookings are being taken.
Students will be enrolled on a full-time Newham College course from July 22 where they will need to maintain a 95 per cent attendance record to keep their place.
An Open Day will be held at the college on June 15, where would-be participants can find out more.
For more information, email the Trust’s George Chukwuma at george.chukwuma@westhamunited.co.uk. To book your trial place visit www.newham.ac.uk or call 020 8257 4446.
