Crossrail staff took a break from construction to raise money for Richard House Children’s Hospice.
The project team at the Victoria Dock portal raised £800 through several international lunches.
It was an opportunity for workers to celebrate the team’s diversity, sample foods from around the world and raise money for a good cause at the same time.
A group of keen football fans organised a weekly game of predicting the results to help top up the pot.
Aiden Goggins, senior project manager from Taylor Woodrow, said: “We are delighted to support the important work of Richard House, which provides such crucial services to help sick children.”
The hospice, based in Beckton, cares for seriously ill children and their families.
