A community garden brought food growers together to share ideas.
Saturday’s event at First Avenue Community Garden featured herbal medicine and compost workshops, along with a tour of the garden with information on how it started up and its benefits to residents.
There was also a chance to swap seeds and a treasure hunt for children at the garden on First Avenue, while tea, cake and ice was served up.
The community garden was set up in 2011 as a place for residents to grow vegetables and flowers and hold social events. Volunteers are still needed for tasks such as creating a pond.
