The roof of a block of flats was damaged by a fire in Romford Road, Manor Park, on Saturday afternoon.
Part of a first floor flat was also damaged but no-one was injured.
Six fire engines and 35 firefighters were called to the scene at 2.49pm. The fire was under control by 4.25pm.
Experts believe that the fire started accidentally.
