Flag is raised to mark St Lucia Day

The St Lucian community raised its flag at Newham Town Hall to mark its national day.

Crowds gathered in Barking Road to commemorate the day on December 13, singing the national anthem alongside High Commissioner Dr Ernest Hilaire.

Justin Moore, who runs the Green Light Youth Club in Tower Hamlets, helped co-ordinate the event and said: “Everything was fantastic, it was important day for St Lucian people in Newham and people of all Caribbean backgrounds.”
