Firefighters rescued a cat which had been trapped in a garage in East Ham for two days last night.
The crew from East Ham fire station were called by a family in Langdon Road after they realised their cat had fallen through the roof of a nearby garage, which according to firefighters had been boarded up by the council.
The family heard the cat crying through the shed, according to firefighters, who broke through the boarding to reach the distressed cat. The cat was said to be well and reunited with its family.
