Firefighters battle against Stratford office blaze

Crews from five stations were called to a blaze in Stratford.

Firefighters from five stations were called to a blaze in Stratford.

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters tackled the flames in a disused office building on Warton Road on Saturday.

During the blaze, a large part of the third floor was damaged and the road was closed.

Crews were called at 3.46pm. The fire was under their control by 5.30pm.

Staff from Stratford, Poplar, Plaistow, Homerton and Leytonstone stations were at the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
