A man had to be rescued from his smoke filled flat in Manor Park on New Year’s Eve, it has emerged.
Two fire engines and around ten firefighters, some wearing breathing apparatus, tackled the blaze in the ground floor flat on Strone Road at around 8.15pm. Police and ambulance service were also at the scene.
Part of the property was damaged. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
