An abandoned building on Warton Road, Stratford


Twenty firefighters tackled a blaze in Stratford’s Warton Road this afternoon.

A spokesman from London Fire Brigade said they were called at 1.35pm to a disused building with four floors. Forty per cent of the third floor was alight.

The fire was under control by 2.21pm thanks to the efforts of crews from Poplar, Stratford, Homerton and Bethnal Green fire stations.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
