Fire in Manor Park house wrecks basement

Twenty firefighters were called to a blaze at a house in Manor Park last night.

London Fire Brigade were called to the house fire in Sixth Avenue at 11.52pm.

Three adults had managed to escape before the fire service arrived, but it still took four engines nearly an hour to tackle the flames.

London Fire Brigade said 50 percent of the basement was damaged, and the fire was brought under controlled by 12.43am.
