Ten people were led to safety by firefighters after a major fire broke out on Monday in a block of flats in Stratford.
Four engines and around 20 firefighters were called to the scene in Leather Gardens at 9.14am and the fire was brought under control at 10.27am.
No one was injured but firefighters led away ten people wearing breathing apparatus and around 20 people evacuated the building before crews arrived.
The London Fire Brigade said that the second-floor flat is severely damaged.
Fire crews from Plaistow and Stratford attended the scene and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
