A fire which broke out at a restaurant has damaged 50 per cent of the building.

Four fire engines, and 21 firefighters and officers were called to the incident in Romford Road, Manor Park, at 11.35am yesterday.

Crews from Stratford, Ilford, Leytonstone and Plaistow fire station attended.

The fire was brought under control at 12.35pm. Its cause is being investigated.
