A glittering opening day launch is expected for the �1.45bn, 1.9 million sq ft development, which will be attended by London Mayor Boris Johnson, Kelly Brook and former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

Children from Colegrave Primary School will cut the ribbon at the John Lewis store.

The opening ceremony will be followed by a performance from pop superstar Nicole Scherzinger.

Celebrity launches and special events are planned across the sites 300 stores and restaurants throughout the day.

Ms Brook will be providing the glamour for fashion store, New Look, while Hammers’ boss Sam Allardyce will be helping to kick off West Ham’s official club shop.

The shoppers paradise, which also includes a food market, a 17-screen Vue cinema, three hotels, a bowling alley and entertainment space, also houses M&S and Waitrose.
