Rail users and sporting enthusiasts are encouraged to plan their routes ahead of the Rugby World Cup when fans flock to the borough in just three months’ time.
Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford is one of three venues for the six-week cup, which starts on September 18 and is expected to attract around one million spectators.
A fanzone in Newham – a free hub for fans to enjoy pre-match build-up - will also crop up over the tournament.
Public transport and roads in and around venues will be busier than usual on match days, and passengers are encouraged to visit rugbyworldcup.com/travel for more details at the end of the month.
“London will be a fantastic place to be during Rugby World Cup 2015 and, working with the organisers, boroughs and the other transport operators, we will be making sure that everyone is able to plan their journeys before they travel,” said London’s Transport Commissioner, Sir Peter Hendy CBE.”
