Families gathered in the Britannia Village Community Garden to enjoy fun in the sun this weekend.

The community day, sponsored by the Silvertown Partnership, brought those living in the area together for a variety of fun and informative activities at the Evelyn Road site.

Children could have their faces painted, sumo wrestle or play on a bouncy castle.

Stalls allowed residents to find out more about what is happening with the regeneration of the area, including the Millennium Mills and talk to a number of organisations in the area.

There was also the chance to have a tour of the SS Robin, which is currently being restored in the Royal Docks.

Simon Webster, chief executive of the Silvertown Partnership said: “We are really proud to sponsor events like these that bring the community together – not just residents, but community groups and pupils from Britannia Village Primary School who performed throughout the day.”

Cllr Pat Murphy, community lead for the Royal Docks, who led the organisation of the event, added: “This was a fantastic event in Britannia Village.
