Hundreds of travellers and staff were forced to flee from a busy airport terminal after a fire alarm sounded.
When firefighters arrived at London City Airport’s main terminal they found the cause of the alarm to be nothing more than an oven which had overheated in one of the restaurants.
A single fire engine from Silvertown arrived on the scene after getting the call at 12.45pm today.
The airport’s fire alarm protocols dictate that firefighters arrive to investigate the cause and that people are evacuated from the building.
