Plaistow pupils learnt about God’s role in marriage – with a married couple performing a wedding reconstruction.
The July 14 ceremony was orchestrated by Christian educators Faith in Schools, which aims to teach the borough’s young about Christianity.
Faith in Schools primary school worker Jannine Perrineau said the wedding, which saw couple Samuel and Ruth Braga Tavares “married” by Rev Faith Wakeling at St Martin’s Church, showed the centrality of God’s love to Christian marriage.
“We were trying to convey why we get married and that it’s a covenant that God gave us that shows the love between God and his church,” she said. “The pupils were very engaged and spoke to the bride and groom at a reception we put on afterwards.”
