Police, paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance scrambled to help a woman who fell into a marina in Royal Docks.

Officers were called to Western Gateway yesterday at around following reports someone had “jumped into the dock” near the ExCeL exhibition centre and Emirates Air Line cable-car terminal, according to a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police.

A team from the borough and the Met’s marine support unit were on scene, she said, adding that officers await an update on the person’s condition.

Ambulance and helicopter crews were also dispatched, though the LAA team’s flight was cancelled on the way to the scene and did not land, a spokeswoman said.

“We sent two incident response officers, a single responder in a car and two ambulance crews,” added a spokesman for London Ambulance Service.

“We also dispatched our hazardous area response team.

“We treated a woman at the scene and took her to hospital.”
