ExCeL London, exhibitions publisher Mash Media and organiser Brand Events played host to a Christmas lunch for 350 elderly residents from homes and shelters across the borough at the ExCel on Tuesday.

They put on a three course lunch, music and even held a big conga line, to recognise that loneliness can be a significant factor in the lives of elderly members of the local community at the exhibition centre, in Royal Docks.

Jeremy Rees, executive director at ExCeL London, said: “We were delighted to be approached to host this lunch and work with these great companies to throw a fun party for elderly residents from across Newham.

“This lunch concludes a year in which we have also supported two local charities- NASSA (Newham All Stars Sports Academy) and CFE and created a Christmas campaign around charitable giving.”
