Star pupil Eva Muszynski was among students celebrating their A level results at Newham College on Stratford Campus.
The 20-year-old from East Ham posted straight As in Biology, Chemistry, History and Maths at AS level.
Eva said: “I did better than I thought I would.
“It was part hard work and part luck.”
Victoria Thinewu Moyo gave out a shriek of joy when she discovered she had an A in Sociology as well as a B in Psychology and C in Business Studies at AS level.
The 24-year-old only arrived in the country a year ago from Zimbabwe but has quickly adjusted to life in the UK.
Peter Harris, director of curriculum, said it had been another really good year for exam results at the college with an over 90 per cent pass rate.
