A Newham headteacher has hailed the “incredible experience and honour” of being invited to meet prime minister Theresa May.
Paul Harris was one of just 100 teachers from across the country to be invited to a Downing Stret reception.
Mr Harris, who is the CEO of the Tapscott Learning Trust and executive headteacher of its three primary schools - Ranelagh, Curwen and Kensington - said: “I was privileged to stand alongside some talented educational leaders from across the UK.
“It was a great opportunity to champion the amazing teachers and leaders we have in all our schools who are working so hard to deliver excellent education.”
Also invited to the event was Lee Bradbury, the director of humanities for the Burnt Mills Academy Trust (BMAT), which includes the Royal Docks Academy.
He described feeling “quite overawed” by the visit to Number 10 but added: “The ministers were asking questions and listening to what we had to say.
“It was a really nice experience and great to get a pat on the back.”
