A group of students from St Bonaventure’s School in Forest Gate took a trip to the West End.
Last week, seven pupils from the Key Stage Three book club were taken to see Aladdin at the Prince Edward Theatre in Old Compton Street, Soho.
They were accompanied by school librarian and head of the book club, Marie Massett.
She said: “Each scene was breathtakingly bright and colourful and the costumes and songs were stunning.
“Our students loved the special effects and thought it was a magical and wonderful experience.”
Miss Massett praised the production team behind the performance for managing to keep to the traditional storyline despite the special effects.
The students will use the theatre show to produce work inspired by the show. As well as theatre trips, the school’s English department also arranges visits from authors and a Saturday school to support pupils’ learning.
