Newham volunteers have won a grant to set up a handicraft club where people can get together to share their skills.
Residents applied for a “Go For It” grant from Newham Council to start “Time2Craft”, a skills-sharing club based at the Rokeby Community Links Hub in Stratford.
Started a fortnight ago, the club meet from 11.30am to 2.30am every Saturday and enjoy a cup of tea, biscuits, share their resources and teach other new hobbies.
One of their first projects involved teaching each other how to make handmade Valentines Day cards for their loved ones.
Entry is 1 and people can turn up or email Up Your Street, an information service for seniors, at gillianamuir@aol.co.uk to find out more.
