Staff and pupils at St Bonaventure’s donned their craziest and most colourful knits in memory of a teenager who was murdered almost a decade ago.
The Boleyn Road, Forest Gate school took part in the Jumpers for Jimmy day, which was organised by the parents of Jimmy Mizen.
The 16-year-old was killed following a trivial row in a bakery in Lee, south-east London, in May 2008.
And the jumpers worn on Thursday helped to raise more than £1,800 for the For Jimmy charity, which his parents Barry and Margaret set up in his name.
A school spokeswoman said: “It was a lovely fun day.
“We are always humbled by the generosity of our staff, pupils and their families.”
The charity works with young people, schools and businesses to create safe spaces for young peole to grow up in.
