Street art from school pupils will be viewed by visitors and media from around the world today at the 2013 UEFA Champions Festival.
Children from Curwen Primary School, Selwyn Primary School, and Cumberland School in Plaistow, and Kingsford Community School in Beckton got drawing for the Champions Street Art competition.
Pupils from across east London entered and 14 artworks were chosen to welcome the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Women’s Champions League to Stratford around the perimeter of The International Quarter where the event is being held in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park from today until Sunday.
The UEFA Champions Festival is a free four-day football celebration featuring a number of family-friendly activities.
Sue Allen, teacher and Art & Technology manager at Curwen, said: “Everyone from the school is really looking forward to going to such an incredible event and it is an honour to have Year Three and Year Five’s design showcased to everyone attending.
“We have been very fortunate to experience so many major events in Stratford and this competition was a great way to get involved.”
The competition was run by the East London Business Alliance (ELBA), Pro-Active East London, Active Newham, London Legacy Development Corporation, and UEFA.
