The Madison Square Garden Company (MSG) spent a week touring schools and colleges in east London as part of its Next Generation tour, speaking to 14 to 18-year-olds about the jobs available in music and entertainment.

The tour kicked off with a special performance by Essex rock band Nothing But Thieves at Here East in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, which was attended by pupils from NewVIc.

The band’s guitarist, Dom Craik, said: “When we’re performing on stage what you don’t see is the huge team behind the scenes that help us.

“I think it’s incredible that during the MSG Next Generation tour people will get to hear about all the jobs you can do besides being a singer, guitarist, or drummer on stage.”

A planning application for the proposed MSG Sphere venue in Stratford is expected to be submitted in the near future.
