Newham College held their inaugural Apprenticeship Awards this week.

The event was organised to recognise the outstanding achievements of the many employers and apprentices enrolled on the apprenticeship programme at the college, in High Street South, East Ham at the Good Hotel.

More than 100 people attended the ceremony, in Docklands, where 16 awards were handed out to range of different categories, including accounting, beauty therapy, business, engineering, fashion and textiles and catering to name a few.

Prinicipal, Di Gowland, said:“We are very proud to be launching the Newham College Apprenticeships Awards and we are delighted to be working so closely with so many impressive businesses and their employees.

“Our ambition is to provide the most professional, flexible and effective services possible to our apprentices and their employers and with the introduction of the apprenticeship levy, we look forward to even more employers and apprentices entering the awards next year.”
