Young cooking enthusiasts battled it out over a chicken fajita to be crowned the next Jamie Oliver.
Five schools took part in the “Finding a little Jamie Oliver in Newham” competition at the Mayor’s Newham Show in Central Park, East Ham, on Saturday July 13.
All pupils started off with the omelette challenge and dream team Tommy Ling and Ashantay Miller from the Royal Docks Community School and Shipman Youth Zone in Beckton won with their superior chicken fajita.
Mayor of Newham Sir Robin Wales and Young Mayor Rebekah Dike were on hand to present the prizes which included Jamie Oliver Tefal pans for the winning school, a tour of Foreman’s salmon factory, and Westfield Stratford City vouchers.
