Green-fingered youngsters have been planting daffodil bulbs outside their school thanks to a housing developer.

Pupils from Chobham Academy were given the bulbs, as well as gloves, trowels and rakes, by Taylor Wimpey East London as part of the company’s Proud campaign, aiming to leave a lasting legacy in the communities it builds in.

Representatives from Taylor Wimpey, which is creating the Chobham Manor development in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, joined in with the planting.

Sales and marketing director Michael O’Leary said: “We want to leave a place that both our customers and other local residents will enjoy long after we have finished building.

“We were thrilled to help the pupils of Chobham Academy with the planting and we hope that the bulbs will grow into a lovely display that the local community will admire in years to come.”
