Kids at Oliver Thomas Nursery have fun with charity welly throw.

WET weather provided a fitting backdrop for a sponsored welly-throw at an East Ham school.

Children, parents and staff at Oliver Thomas Nursery School and Children’s Centre in Mathews Avenue gave it some welly to raise money for the Pakistan Flood Appeal.

Deputy head Stella Wybron said: “We are a very small school but our parents are very generous. They are not just East Ham residents, they think globally.”

Head teacher Dianne Walls said staff were still collecting sponsorship forms.

But children had already raised £700 and were well on their way to their £1,000 target.
