Talented girls of Plashet School celebrated their GCSE exam results with the Mayor of Newham yesterday.
Rachel McGowan, headteacher of the school in Plashet Grove, East Ham, showed off her brainiest pupils to Sir Robin Wales and Cllr Rev Quintin Peppiatt, cabinet member for children and young people.
One superstar was Iqra Noor Abdul-Khaliq who received nine A*s including English and maths, biology, chemistry and physics, and one A.
Iqra said: “My results are better than I expected. I’m going to college to take A-levels in biology, chemistry, history and maths.
“I’d love to study at Cambridge and become a surgeon.”
