GCSE maths success for Royal Docks Community School

Improving on last year’s results in the subject was a target for head Wendy Bower, and something she is happy to have achieved.

“We’re delighted with the improvement, and that we’ve done better than the national average,” she said.

“We also had ten students take GCSE maths a year early and all of those passed it as well.”

The school has also seen 44pc of students achieving at least five A*-C grades including English and maths.

That figure included head boy Om Dave, who achieved two A*s, six As, a B and a C, and deputy head girl Fatimati Gaye, who notched up five A*s, three As and two Bs.

Another high achiever was Michael Olaye-Adelaja, who got four A*s, six As and a B at the Prince Regent Lane school.
