Parents had a wizard time at a leavers production of The Wizard of Oz at a primary school in Forest Gate.

About 150 of the students’ friends and family turned up to St Anthony’s School to watch the children act, sing and dance their way through the tale about a girl called Dorothy who is trying to find her way home from the strange land of Oz.

Year Six teacher Verity Carter said: “It was absolutely fantastic. We had people coming up to us and saying it was like a West End production.

“They worked really hard and we are all really proud of them. I’d say it is probably the best production we have ever done.”

This play was of special significance to the pupils as it was the last one that the 10 and 11-year-olds would perform as they will be leaving for secondary school.
