Budding artists from a primary school have made it to the finals of a competition that could net them £750 worth of creative supplies.

Nelson Primary in East Ham is among three schools to get to the last stage of a campaign launched by Art.co.uk to encourage and inspire artists of the future.

The finalists have each received 18 of their favourite framed artworks from Art.co.uk.

Now, to win the prize, the school needs family members, friends, community members and visitors to Art.co.uk are invited to vote for it as their favourite school on art.com/artsparks by May 23. The school with the most votes will receive a grand prize of £750 worth of art supplies.

Jo Cul, assistant head teacher at the school, said: “Nelson believes that every child should have the opportunity to access as many different experiences as possible to help them aspire to great things in the future. We provide an enriched curriculum to ensure that children have access to opportunities that pupils in more affluent areas readily receive.”

A spokesman for Art.co.uk said the school was chosen because “their application really showed their passion for Art both in school and using it in their community too and Art.co.uk really wanted to make a difference to a school and community in need.”
