BREAKING NEWS: Newham Council wins school funding court battle

NEWHAM Council has won a High Court battle over cuts to a Government school building programme.
Town Hall bosses - along with five other authorities - challenged the decision to scrap the Building Schools for the Future scheme.
And today judges ruled Education Secretary Michael Gove had acted unfairly and unlawfully.
He will now have to look again at his decision in relation to the six local authority areas.
His lawyers argued the building scheme, introduced by the previous Labour administration, was unnecessarily bureaucratic.
Eight schools in Newham have already seen work under the initiative, with work at three completed.
But the withdrawal of £252.1 million meant projects at 12 others were facing cancellation.
