Children will blast off in Newham on Saturday with a special space mission to launch a new interactive exhibition for families.
The youngsters will get to experience a take-off in a giant rocket at the Journey to Space exhibition in Stratford.
During their space journey, the trainee astronauts will get to meet Robert the Robot and follow trails to complete tasks and crack codes.
Children’s Story Centre is hosting the Discover event until October, with kids able to experience the joys of red hot, icy blue and mysterious green planets.
Award-winning illustrator and animator Jim Field, who created the exhibition, said: “Space is such an exciting theme for children, and adults for that matter, to explore.”
