Pupils at Brampton Manor Academy celebrate their results

The headteacher of Brampton Manor Academy has paid tribute to his students and staff in another record year of results for the East Ham school.

Dr Dayo Olukoshi said 50 out of 180 pupils - 62 per cent - received A* or A grades and called the results “tremendous”.

Brampton Manor Academy is one of the top performing schools in the country and eight students will be heading to Cambridge this year.

These include Nafeesa Shahzad who scored three A* in economics, maths and further maths despite health problems.

Dr Olukoshi said: “Nafeesa faced a lot of difficulties at home and has had an eye condition for years but she still received all A*s.”

He added: “The students here believe there is no ceiling in what they can reach and that goes through everything we do.”
