Six senior members of staff at at East Ham school have today been suspended following an initial independent investigation into allegations regarding management and administrative matters.
Newham Council education chiefs tonight confirmed the suspensions which came after a probe into the claims concerning Langdon School in Sussex Road between 2004 and 2009.
It is understood the staff were suspended at the end of the school day as pupils left for their half term break.
Disciplinary processes have now begun under the school’s conduct procedures. The school has put in place temporary staffing arrangements to ensure that the quality of education received by pupils is protected.
A spokesperson for Newham Council said: “Parents and pupils are being made aware of the temporary changes to management at the school. We cannot provide further information while the disciplinary processes continue.”
