Pupils at a school fete in West Ham met the firefighters who saved their school from a roof fire next year.
Stratford station firefighters attended the Gainsborough Primary School fete in Gainsborough Road on Saturday where they gave a demonstration to children and families and they showed their gratitude for the brigade’s efforts at the beginning of the school year.
The pupils feared they may have to go back to school late after their summer holidays when the roof of Gainsborough School caught fire on September 3rd.
But the firefighters were not the only attraction as children took part in a fancy dress competition, jumped away on a bouncy castle, got their face painted and took part in competitions.
