The University of East London has risen in the university league tables for the second year in a row.
According to the Guardian University Guide rankings, published on Tuesday, the university is now the 88th best in the country – up from place 107 last year.
UEL’s 19-step increase made it the third most-improved London university, and the eighth most-improved nationwide.
Course satisfaction and employability were among the biggest improvements for the university, which is based in three campuses across Stratford and the Docklands.
Dean Curtis, UEL’s acting vice chancellor, said: “It’s a great achievement.
“The improvement demonstrates that the hard work we’re doing to improve our students’ experience is generating results. We’re achieving our goal of delivering high quality courses that prepare students for the world of work or further study.
“This has been a strong year for UEL.”
The table ranks universities according to factors including spending per student, student to staff ratio, career prospects and course satisfaction.
