Aspiring artists from six Newham schools showcase their work in Stratford this week.

Pupils have practiced everything from animation to printing over the course of the year, helped by professional artists from Bow Arts.

Each school came up with their own masterpiece and contributed to art commissions, including a willow mural Sandringham Primary School and ‘Kings and Queens’ learning aid at Selwyn Primary School.

Their work will be displayed in an exhibition opening Wednesday at Sarah Bonnell School, in Deanery Road, Stratford.

“The Sarah Bonnell Consortium schools are on the doorstep of London’s finest Creative Industries, yet for many this rich resource can remain inaccessible and untapped,” said Rob Smith, head of education and learning at Bow Arts.

“Bow Arts bridge this gap and ensure that art and creativity and the opportunity to work alongside leading professional artists are at the heart of every child’s learning.”

The scheme has run for four years.
