Vicars from East London will be taking part in this year’s London Wedding Show at ExCeL this weekend, showing couples that heavenly nuptials needn’t cost the earth.
They will be at stand 155 at the Royal Docks-based exhibition to answer questions from couples on Sunday February 5 at 3pm.
Their presence at the show helps make them more accessible to couples considering marriage, allowing them to explain just how easy it is to marry in a church of their choice.
Among them will be the Archdeacon of West Ham, the Venerable Elwin Cockett, who said: “A church is a wonderful place to celebrate the happiest day of your life. But many couples don’t know that they can choose to get married in church.
“Couples are often unaware that the vicar is there to take the stress out of the event and help to design an occasion that reflects their style and story.”
He said churchmen want to make it easy for couples who may be wondering whether a church wedding is for them, adding: “It doesn’t cost the earth to have a heavenly wedding. All that is legally required to marry in church costs less than £350.”
The show promises everything that a prospective Bride and Groom need to turn their dream wedding into a reality. It boasts over 150 exhibitors ranging from one off designer pieces to bespoke Wedding packages and award winning professionally choreographed and staged catwalk bridal fashion shows.
