Looked after children in East London are training with Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalists, thanks to a collaboration between the National Fostering Agency and Unity dance company UK.

Children in care aged 10-17 are rehearsing every Sunday with members of Unity’s troop, who’ve been semi-finalists in the ITV talent show and Sky’s Got to Dance.

They’ll perform their finished routine at the North London Children’s Achievement Awards on February 14 at Stratford’s Circus Art Theatre.

Tashan Muir, director and choreographer of Unity dance company UK, said: “This project provides an opportunity for children to understand the commitment required to learn to dance in front of a large audience and showcase their talents.”

NFA Carer Recruitment officer Kate Davis said: “It has been inspiring to see how the children are learning and developing as the rehearsals progress.”
