He was one of the standout stars of University Challenge - and now Bobby Seagull is set to have his own radio show.

The maths teacher, who grew up in East Ham, will be uniting with fellow team captain Eric Monkman for Monkman and Seagull’s Polymathic Adventure.

The half hour programme, set to air on BBC Radio 4 at 8.30pm on Monday, August 21, will explore whether it’s possible to be a useful polymath - a person of wide knowledge or learning.

The pair, who both represented Cambridge University colleges on the popular BBC Two show, will interview Stephen Fry as part of the show and find out if there is any use in knowing everything.

And while former St Bonaventure’s pupil Bobby’s Emmanuel College team was knocked out in the semi-final by Eric’s Wolfson College team, the two have a strong off-screen relationship, with Bobby previously calling him “my very good friend”.
