Residents in East Ham have been invited to a street party organised by a man committed to looking after his neighbourhood,

The family event on Saturday, which will include a bouncy castle and a face painter, will be held in the car park in Acorn Court on Colvin Road, East Ham, from 10am until 2pm.

It has been organised by East Ham resident and business man Path Prabha, 57, with a Lets Get the Party Started grant from Newham Council for a Street Party celebration.

Mr Prabha is very enthusiastic about keeping his neighbourhood clean and tidy. He said :”East Ham is our world, it is part of this earth. In looking after East Ham, we fulfil our wider responsibility of taking care of our earth.”

With the support of charity CleanupUK who provides him with litter-picking equipment, he cleans the streets for an hour or two every Wednesday at 10am on Colvin Road.

If you would like to set up a litter pick in your area, email Emma Harrington from CleanupUK at emma.harrington@cleanupuk.org.uk or call her on 07950 345 639 or for more information about the group in East Ham, email Prabha at prabha@elepos.com
