For Rea Reinbach, it was the death of her best friend’s mother Maxine Dimech.

Maxine had worked for Richard House before her death five years ago, so Rea, from East Ham, decided to make the leap as a fundraiser for the children’s hospice.

“Maxine loved the hospice,” said Rea, 21. “She was always talking about her job and how much she loved Richard House.

“They are an amazing hospice and they put in a lot of hard work for the children and their needs.”

Tuesday’s jump, at Headcorn Airfield near Ashford, has already helped Rea to raise more than £650, meaning she is close to hitting her £700 target.

Despite being both nervous and excited beforehand, Rea was thrilled with how it went.

She said: “It was amazing and the best experience I have ever had.

“It was all for a really good cause as well. I would one hundred percent do it again.”
