Staff at Newham mental health services wore their Christmas jumpers


Staff members at East Ham Care Centre and the Newham Centre for Mental Health in Plaistow are well and truly ready for the festive season after a day of seasonal fun.

Student Nurse Hayley Reed organised a day for the staff to put on their best festive jumpers to mark Christmas Jumper Day and put on a mixture of events to raise money for the mental health charity.

The charity who Hayley has decided to run the London Marathon in aid of in 2016.

Hayley Reed said: “Everyone entered into the spirit of the day and wore some outlandish jumpers.

“This will be my first Marathon - I am very scared but hopefully my little legs will keep me going all the way round.”

Everyone wearing a jumper had to make a £2 donation to the charity, while there was also a stall set up selling Christmas treats including chocolate truffles, snowflake sugar cookies, peppermint bark, mince pies and cupcakes.
