Defender eager to taste victory on home O’s bow against Scunthorpe United.

Leyton Orient loanee Neal Eardley admits they have to right the wrongs from last weekend’s defeat at Colchester United with three points against Scunthorpe United tomorrow at Brisbane Road.

The 26-year-old came in for his debut last Saturday against the U’s having joined on a one month loan deal from Birmingham City.

And while admitting it was disappointing, the Welsh international knows they have to bounce back immediately in tomorrow’s clash with the Iron.

“The Colchester result is a disappointing one for all of us, but we will just look forward to Scunthorpe now,” said Eardley.

“That game has gone and we can’t dwell on it for too long in this division so we’ll look forward to the game against Scunthorpe.

“I am looking forward to it from a personal point of view with it being at home and it is a big game, but they all are between now and the end of the season.

“They are all massive games. We will be working hard on the training ground trying to put things right and hopefully that will help us get the right result against Scunthorpe.”

The O’s are hoping to welcome back some of their injured players for the match with the Iron, with the likes of Scott Cuthbert and Darius Henderson possible returnees.

Shaun Batt is believed to have resumed full training as well, and is also in contention for tomorrow’s match with Scunthorpe.

Iron boss Mark Robins has boosted his squad ahead of the fixture, with midfielder George Evans joining on loan from Manchester City, and Dutch striker Kevin van Veen on a three-year deal from FC Oss.
