Doctors have put down their stethoscopes and picked up their running shoes to raise almost £1,200 for a children’s hospice.

Nine members of NHS Newham CCG were among thousands of runners taking on the Great Newham London Run on Sunday.

Months of training paid off as they posted excellent personal timings during the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park event.

Their efforts helped to raise £1,197 for Richard House Children’s Hospice.
